MUSIC MAN

Tom Kimmel has been a Nashville voice of soul and authority for three decades now. Around town, he's a big presence on small stages.

Yet it turns out he's also a silver screener. Kimmel is in the movies. And on television. Or at least his songs are heard in these places. And Kimmel's Tuesday show at Bluebird Cafe (4104 Hillsboro Road, 383-1461) is an album release celebration for Never Saw Blue, a collection of Kimmel-penned songs that were featured in movies such as Twins and Runaway Bride and on television shows including Touched by an Angel (neat, but it gets better), As the World Turns (yep, better), Miami Vice (hold on, almost there) and . . . The Captain Kangaroo Show (yes!!).

More here.
