Mr. and Mrs. Sabatino, aka Crystal Chappell (Olivia) and her husband, Michael (Vince) share the screen next week on Guiding Light.

The couple previously appeared together (and met) on the set of Days of Our Lives. She was Carly/Katrina, a European princess hiding under an assumed name in a small Midwestern town. He was Lawrence, the man who'd broken her heart years ago, fathered her illegitimate child, then raped her best friend. Naturally, despite many violent protestations to the contrary, they couldn't stay away from each other.

After being buried alive and suffering from amnesia as a result (Lawrence's aunt Vivian was even more twisted than Lawrence -- which is saying something), Carly, Lawrence and their son, Nicholas, reunited and left town to live happily ever after.

Might the same happen to Olivia and Vince (hopefully without the being buried alive part; that probably wouldn't be good for Liv/Gus' heart)? Tune into GL and find out!

Wouldn't it be wonderful for Olivia and Vince to be a true romantic story, complete with discussions about failed relationships, Olivia's rape, and various trust issues???

Of course, that would require someone who could write good soap opera.

It would also require GL to be willing to admit what everyone already knows: That Jeffrey is a sick, twisted woman-hating serial rapist who assaulted Olivia when she was a young girl.

They didn't go to so much trouble to whitewash that pitiful character, duct-tape him to Reva, and even having her get pregnant just to solidify his position on the canvas only to allow the reality of what they showed him do to Olivia and Cassie intrude upon their painting McRapist as the new patron saint of the women of Springfield. Barf.

This show's newfound obsession with romanticizing rapists and murderers is really disturbing.
