GL CLASSIC SCENE #2: THE SLUT OF SPRINGFIELD

Even Guiding Light fans who began watching the show post-1984 know about Reva Shayne's famous fountain dip, wherein she baptized herself The Slut of Springfield. (Such activity, apparently, is genetic, as Jonathan, upon arriving in town, took a similar swan dive a few years ago, proud mom by his side).

Though most viewers assume that actress Kim Zimmer won her first of four Daytime Emmy Awards in 1985 for the episode, Kim actually didn't even submit it for consideration that year.

Emmy rules state that an actor must submit every single scene they appear in from a given episode, and Kim revealed that leading up to the unconventional baptism were too many group party scenes where she simply stood around and did nothing.

So though her Emmy was won for the year she stripped down to her underwear on national television, it wasn't for that particular episode.

However, you can still reward her work now.

why is there hardly anything about ATWT on this blog? I don't watch GL nor am I interestd in it.

Please devote more to ATWT. I am sick of GL getting more publicity here.

Surely, on the actual day of GL's 70th Anniversary, you can permit there to be more GL posts than ATWT?

If you scroll down and explore the site, I'm sure you'll be happy to see that there are weeks when ATWT gets the daily treatment with previews and special features.

It all depends on the news of the day...

Good morning,

Sorry to add a message unrelated to the topic but I just found this site and am very excited! As a former fan of The Edge of Night who thrilled at finding 2 minute snippets of old episodes on Youtube, I am so happy to be able to watch so many classic full episodes on your site.

I have simply one question...Are you going to continue adding episodes of EON or are the ones presently on the site going to be it? I would so appreciate having the opportunity see more episodes than those listed.

Thanks in advance for your response, and for allowing an old fan like me who has tried to find old episodes of EON for years to watch this great show again! It is such a pleasure.

A Drake

In response to pgp classic soaps:

I check this blog daily for ATWT news. Unfortunately most of the time I am really disappointed as GL is mentioned way more than ATWT. Sorry but I want ATWT news not GL news. Usually when ATWT is mentioned, it is old stuff about former cast members, which most of the time I have never heard of. I want stuff on the current cast and current storylines. It seems that GL fans gets that for their show, while ATWT fans only gets "old" stuff.

Sorry but I am very ticked off at the treatment ATWT gets.
