ATWT & GL VET HELPS OTHERS GET A LEG UP

The Brooklyn Young Filmmakers Center is a grassroots effort to increase diversity on and behind the scenes by opening doors for low-income kids. Its first conference - which includes a panel of experts on how to break into the business - is set for this Saturday at Long Island University in downtown Brooklyn.... Tina Bell, one of the panelists, has worked for a set construction company in Brooklyn for 20 years and has made sets for "Saturday Night Live," "As the World Turns" and "Guiding Light."

More on Bell and the conference, here.
