KUDOS!

Guiding Light, produced by Ellen Wheeler for CBS television, earned its first Golden Icon for Best Soap Opera in the 2007-2008 awards presented by Travolta Family Entertainment.

In acting categories Peter Bergman won Best Actor for his role as Jack Abbott on CBS’s The Young and the Restless, while Guiding Light’s Nicole Forester picked up the win for Best Actress for her role as Cassie Layne Winslow.

Guiding Light also earned awards for Best Writing for the team headed by David Kreizman.

Entire story, here.

Never heard of them.

It proves right there that this award thing is nonsense.

Yup. If they think the writing or production of the show is good, they need to watch OLTL.

This award is like the Razzies, right? I mean, it has to be. No? Well, Travolta family. As in John Travolta? That might explain it.

I'm not impressed by OLTL myself. It was really good for a few weeks there and then when the 40th anniversary hit, it went downhill fast and shows no signs of improving. I think Carlivati is just a Kreizman-in-training, someone who writes the show like campy fan fiction for his lame favorites. It took DK a little while to sink to his true depths. I expect RC to join him there soon.
