WHERE ARE THEY NOW: LORI CARDILLE (WINTER; EDGE OF NIGHT)

It was on a train ride with a cousin to attend the funeral of a family member that Lori Cardille began her painful journey on the road to recovering from childhood sexual abuse. During the train ride, when her cousin asked out of the blue if Lori thought his father was a pedophile, her response was to vomit violently. She then had to face her past, and part of her healing process included writing about it in her memoir "I'm Gonna Tell ... an offbeat tale of survival" (published by iUniverse).

Lori Cardille began playing the role of Winter Austen on EON in 1978. In 1979, Cardille left the show when the storyline called for her to shoot pornographer Wade Meechum after he raped her, because the plot was too reminiscent of her own past trauma. She was replaced by Stephanie Braxton.

Cardille went on to play the lead role in Day of the Dead. Her father, Bill Cardille, had appeared in the original Night of the Living Dead in 1968.
